![]() ![]() The Hoplite was a heavy infantry, able to sustain a substantial beating thanks to their level of armor. Thus there were variations from person to person that depended upon the individuals wealth, personal preferences, and armor that had already been in the family line. The Hoplites of most city-states were a militia, which resulted in the soldiers providing their own armor. The equipment that follows was considered the minimum of what a Hoplite needed to be properly fielded. Though for this study we shall view what was considered the ‘status-quo’ of an average Hoplite’s equipment, the earliest that we see a use of all the equipment would be in the 7th century BC by the last king of the Argine line, King Pheidon. This leads to an evolution of arms that makes it very hard to pin point the exact equipment used by the Hoplites at any given time. Though this reliance on the equipment at hand to determine the tactics an army would use is nothing new and is still a fact today, along with the tactics themselves determining the equipment used. The word Hoplite is derived from the Greek word “hopla” which literally translates to “stuff”, thus a Hoplite would be a man with “stuff”. Now I've seen in the comments you've aimed for 95 thrust, that certainly does make a difference however if you're caught off guard that thrust can't do anything to help you out, that said I'm not sure how good you are with using active guard but if you were an S- I would be surprised you'd ask us haha.Ĭould experiment though if you want to master making heavy use of the active guard, you could lower the melee resistance and keep the beam up and use active guard to instead tank melee strikes while keeping the beam resistance up for when a support fires at you and have more thrust, but I would recommend saving that for perhaps quick match, if you can get good with that maybe you'd be an active guard master. The foundation of the Hoplite warrior, along with the tactics that they used, were ultimately a derivation of the equipment they carried. Last one was just filler, currently mine doesn't have max slots but if I could I would adjust the build so you retain 40+ on beam and melee resistance and put in more thrust for more use of the active guard as well as making better use of the maneuver armor, you do NOT want to sit there and rely on the active guard for too much as people will simply wait you out, use it short and sparingly and just keep moving via maneuver armor and just tank hits as you draw closer/retreat from enemies. Now then, SPECIFICALLY, for the jesta, I recommend mine, simple enough, this one is specifically for ground combat You actually know how to use the shield (back peddling brings it out infront of you, and some units have it in unique places ie certain gelgoogs have it on their back and angelo zulu has it cross body most of the time). You simply have spare slots and can't stuff in more health You have a comically large shield to abuse ie gp02 I'd like to also add only use shield parts in the following circumstances Wut, no god no, cooling parts only decrease thruster cool downs and despite the changes to some if you want more thrust to RUN AWAY from battles straight up thruster parts and general management of them is a better part to have. I use cooling and control systems to increase my shield time Health and resistances, always, at low cost ballistic/melee, at high cost (450 onwards) beam and melee defense (unless you have enough free slots, my nu gundam has 40 resistances across the board), for 400+ units 19-20k+ health is good as only units that either have lvl4's at 700 or built to sit there like the xamel need to go any higher than 20k and really getting 2k health for it to be wiped off isn't a good trade off but if your unit has enough slots and can bump up the resistances it's worth it as stacking both is great.Ħ50+ units REALLY do need 40+, especially at 700 as hitting the max of 50 still isn't enough when you're being pelted too much. What are the best parts to use to maximize defense? ![]() Shield parts only help if the unit actually has a shield under it's equipment, for the jesta it isn't a shield but a part of it's body, so it gets a shoulder part buffer instead, if you're not sure if a unit actually has a shield, check the equipment, an example also being the geara doga which has a shield model but it's not listed under its equipment so it counts as part of its body instead (but the geara zulu HAS a shield despite being the same make wtf)Īnd just to add, shield parts only help shield health, but I'm guessing you already know that but just making sure, it's monday afterall. ![]()
